DESCRIPTION:Screening held as a fundraiser for the Guiding Star Grange in Greenfield. Producer/Director Steve Alves will be on hand for a post-film discussion. \nGuiding Star Grange #1\, the first grange in Massachusetts was organized in 1873. The National Grange movement having begun only 6 years earlier as a farmers’ advocacy group. It was one of the first organizations to grant women equal standing to men. The Grange building serves the community as an internationally recognized dance hall\, a farmer’s market and the home for the local scout troop. It also avails it’s space for local and national elections\, a zumba class\, the community choir meets here\, and is available to rent for all sorts of events.
